Please be aware of the following shuttle bus schedule changes taking effect over the next few days.

The Intercampus Shuttle will not operate on Friday, June 19 due to the University holiday*. It will resume Summer service on Monday, June 22. 

Information for Employees Who Are Returning to Campus

Columbia Transportation and Public Safety have partnered with Via to transition Evening Shuttle service to an on-demand app-based system. The new service is available beginning Monday, June 15, and will replace the Public Safety Evening Shuttle buses. Riders will now be able to request a ride using their smartphone, within defined operating hours and location boundaries, as a safe, convenient and free transportation option at night.

Beginning today, an additional shuttle bus will be added to the summer Intercampus route to increase frequency of service.

Results from Columbia’s most recent Commute and Travel Survey show that between May 2018 and February 2020 fewer Columbia affiliates chose a drive-alone commute and more walked to campus.

Starting June 3, the passenger limit on our vehicles will be 50% of posted capacity, including standees. On the Intercampus, Lamont and Ft. Lee shuttles this will be a maximum or 34 riders. These measures have been implemented to facilitate physical distancing during COVID-19.

Columbia Transportation is working with our shuttle provider, Academy Bus; our black car service provider, Luxury; and our Evening Shuttle partner, Via, to update cleaning and safety protocols in light of COVID-19.

The Intercampus Shuttle summer schedule will begin on Monday, May 18. The last day of the Academic Year schedule will be Friday, May 15.

As University operations have shifted in response to public health directives, Columbia Transportation will reduce shuttle bus service to be in line with current ridership.

Due to the anticipated opening of the new entrance to the Studebaker building on 131st Street, there will be changes to Columbia shuttle bus routes and schedules beginning on Monday, November 11. The following location and schedule changes will accommodate the new Studebaker entrance: 

Due to construction at 132nd Street and Broadway, riders of the Intercampus, Lamont and Manhattanville Loop Shuttles should be aware of a temporary stop change.

Beginning Monday, September 30 through Friday, November 15, 2019, Columbia will pilot a shuttle connection between Hoboken, New Jersey and Columbia’s Morningside campus.
