Your Fall 2022 Columbia Transportation Resources
Dear Columbia affiliates,
As we embark on a new academic year, make sure to take advantage of Columbia Transportation’s commute and travel resources that are available to you.
Shuttle Service
Columbia operates a variety of shuttle buses to help commuters avoid a drive-alone commute and to facilitate travel between campuses with ease. Shuttles are free to Columbia University ID card holders – just tap your CUID on the card reader as you enter the bus.
- The Intercampus Shuttle travels between Columbia's Morningside, Manhattanville, and Medical Center campuses.
- The Lamont Shuttle connects Morningside campus with the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory campus.
- The Manhattanville Loop Shuttle provides transportation between frequently visited locations on the Morningside and Manhattanville campuses.
- The George Washington Bridge/Fort Lee Shuttle connects Columbia's Medical Center to Parker Plaza in Fort Lee.
Academic Year schedules are now available for the Intercampus, Lamont, GWB/Fort Lee, and Manhattanville Loop shuttles. The Fall 2022 schedules will take effect Tuesday, September 6.
Evening Service in Partnership with Public Safety
The Evening Shuttle service, powered by Via, is a safe, convenient and free alternative to walking alone at night. This free service, run in partnership with Public Safety, provided 162,000 rides last academic year. Operated by Columbia-dedicated Via drivers, it runs each evening until 3 a.m. within a coverage area surrounding the Morningside and Manhattanville campuses. Register for a code before requesting your first ride on the Via mobile app. The majority of rides have a wait time of 15 minutes or less but be aware that during peak periods there may be greater demand.
