Columbia Transportation provides an efficient, timely and safe means for faculty, staff, and students to travel between the Morningside, Lamont, Manhattanville, Medical Center, and Harlem Hospital campuses.

Services

Columbia Shuttles

Columbia University provides a network of shuttle buses throughout the Morningside campus, Lamont, Studebaker, the Medical Center, and Harlem Hospital. Shuttle service is available to all Columbia University affiliates with a valid University ID, free of charge. Shuttle services between the Medical Center, Fort Lee and the George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal are also available, but limited to authorized Columbia personnel and students for approved University use.

Car Service

A car service is available to Columbia personnel for approved business use.

Bus and Van Rentals

Bus and van rentals can be obtained through the Columbia Transportation office.

 

Wheelchair Accessibility

During the day, the Intercampus Shuttle provides wheelchair-accessible transportation to all Manhattan campuses via two fully ADA-compliant buses.

The Evening Shuttle route is serviced exclusively by ADA-compliant Public Safety buses.

Effective May 2: Please be aware that due to work by ConEdison, there has been intermittent street closure of 131st Street. To make shuttle service easy and safe for the Studebaker community, we've moved the Studebaker (South) Shuttle stop to West 131st Street and Broadway until further notice. In addition, the Prentiss stop will be at 568 West 125th Street for AM and PM service, and at McDonald's for midday service.

Effective Tuesday, May 8: The main entrance to the Studebaker building will be relocated to the north side of the building on West 132nd Street for a period of approximately 14 months due to the closure of West 131st Street. As a result, the Intercampus Shuttle stops will change. Heading northbound, the "Studebaker North" stop location will be relocated to the NE corner of Broadway and 132nd Street. Heading southbound, the "Studebaker South" stop location will be relocated to the new West 132nd Street Studebaker Building entrance (on the north side of the street in front of the MTA security booth). Please note that beginning May 21, 2012 when the Intercampus Shuttle summer schedule is in effect, the "Studebaker South" stop location will be at the SW corner of 132nd and Broadway.

Morningside Heights Evening Shuttle Bus Service will be introduced for Columbia University community members early in the Fall 2011 term. This shuttle service, which replaces point-to-point vehicular escorts, operates seven days a week from 6:00pm every evening until 4:00am the following morning and utilizes two shuttle buses traveling on different routes, in thirty minute loops across the Morningside and Manhattanville areas.
