Manhattanville Campus Parking Garage: 635 West 131 Street

Columbia cyclists are permitted to park their bicycle free of charge in the parking garage located next to Studebaker. Bike parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The address of the parking garage is 635 West 131st Street.

The garage parking hours are:

  • Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday & Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Bike parking options within the garage:

15 wall-hung bike racks: Cyclists are asked to use these racks first as they more easily accessible without the need to move vehicles. These racks are located directly to the right as you enter the garage.

9 floor-mounted racks: These racks are reserved for cyclists not comfortable using the hanging racks, and are located to the back of the garage and to the right.

Things to know

  • Bike parking spaces are available first-come, first-served on a daily basis.
  • Always lock your bicycle to the bicycle rack.
  • Ask the garage attendant to direct you to the bike rack options.
  • Report to the garage attendant each time you enter the garage, letting them know you are picking up or dropping off your bicycle.
  • Advise the garage attendant if a car is blocking access to the bike racks. 
  • The garage attendant is not required to help you park your bicycle.
  • Bike racks are not for long-term bike storage over multiple days.

Electric and non-electric scooters are permitted. Those who use scooters are held to the same accountability and policy standards as bicyclists. When parking your scooter, please be sure not to disrupt access for others.

Liability

The bicycle owner is responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen property as a result of using the parking garage, including damages caused by the owner’s bicycle to vehicles within the parking area.

Steps to Enroll and Use:

Enrolling online allows Columbia to monitor use and contact you about your bike if needed.

  1. Collect a Commuter Bike Parking Enclosure sticker from the parking attendant
  2. Place the Commuter Bike Parking Enclosure sticker on your bike’s top tube, closest to the handle bars. Click here to see where to place the sticker.
