News & Announcements

Columbia University added 15 parking spaces to the park and ride program at its Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory campus, bringing the total to 36 spaces. The program allows Columbia employees living in the Rockland County area to give up their car commute to Columbia’s Morningside and Manhattanville campuses by parking at Lamont and catching the free Columbia Transportation shuttle.

Beginning Wednesday, December 1, the Studebaker North stop on the Intercampus and Lamont shuttles (currently located at 3258 Broadway) will be moved to the North side of 131st Street to 3270 Broadway, in front of the No Parking sign seen in this image.

The information below is provided to support your decision-making and to encourage Columbia affiliates to make environmentally responsible decisions in this time of change.

As the summer comes to a close and a new Academic Year begins, we’re announcing some changes to the Evening Shuttle service that will take effect Monday, August 30.

Fall 2021 schedules are now available for the Intercampus, Commuter, Lamont, and Manhattanville Loop shuttles.

Additional stops, one discontinued stop, and one stop location change will be implemented on September 1 for the Fall semester.

Columbia was recognized as the runner-up in the Commute Options category from the  Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT). The ACT’s national awards ceremony took place at its annual international conference held this year at Walt Disney World Resort, Florida.

Changes across Columbia Transportation's services for the summer term are listed below.

Citi Field has given notice that they will not allow the Commuter Shuttle to stop at the Citi Field lot due to sporting events taking place throughout the spring, summer, and fall.

Please note the summer Intercampus Shuttle schedule and an update on the Hoboken Shuttle, effective June 1.

The prior capacity restriction on Columbia shuttle buses was recently removed in an effort to better accommodate the volume of Columbia affiliates returning to a reopening campus.

Beginning Monday, May 17, Commuter Shuttle schedules will be reduced for the summer session.

Due to this year’s abridged Spring Term, the on-demand Evening Shuttle (powered by Via) will begin summer operations on Saturday, May 1. The service will run from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. each evening in the summer.
